Bohemian Rhapsody, the hit Queen film biopic starring Rami Malek as the group's iconic frontman Freddy Mercury, won best picture -- drama at the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday night (Jan. 6).

The win was the movie's second in two nominations at the Globes, with Malek also picking up the award for best performance in a motion picture -- drama. The other music-themed nominee in the category, A Star Is Born, ended up getting shut out in all major categories, though it did win best original song for "Shallow," written by Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt.

The big night at the Golden Globes is just the latest achievement for Bohemian Rhapsody, which has already grossed nearly $200 million in the U.S. alone, becoming the highest-grossing musical biopic film ever released, and also spawned a hit soundtrack, which hit No. 3 the Billboard 200 albums chart.

The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Valence, the parent company of Billboard.
